Robert Ulrich

Robert W. "Bob" Ulrich, 72, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away December 10, 2015 at the Davis Hospice Center. Mr. Ulrich was born May 24, 1943 in Longview, Washington to Werner F. and Elfrieda "Fritz" (Schnathorst) Ulrich. Bob graduated from Yale High School in Yale, South Dakota and excelled in basketball. He, also, graduated with a B.S. Degree in Elementary Education from Black Hills State College. He served in the United States Air Force from 1965-68. He married Sharla Schwab on June 10, 1972 in Aberdeen, SD. Following his honorable discharge, he worked at Control Data in Rapid City, SD, and then he taught in Rapid City and Gillette. He retired as an electrician at Black Thunder Mine. His many interests included wood working, gardening, golfing, tinkering, fishing and hunting. He was also involved with the American Legion Post 6 and Lutheran churches wherever he lived. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Sharla Ulrich of Cheyenne; son, Brenen Ulrich, of Cheyenne; daughter, Carissa Naasz (Matthew) of Pierre, SD; brother, Louis Ulrich (Louise) of Longview, WA; two sisters, Barbara Holzerland (Arnold) of Bourbon, MO, and Deanna Erickson (Richard) of Winfred, SD; and three grandchildren, Isabelle, Ariel and Evelyn Naasz. He is preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents; sister, Roberta Ulrich; and niece, Kay Forey. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 13, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted on Monday, December 14th at 10:30 a.m. at the King of Glory Lutheran Church with Pastor Maas officiating. An interment service will follow at Mountain View Memorial Park. Donations in Bob's memory may be made to King of Glory Lutheran Church.
