Robert Van Horn

Robert E. "Bob" Van Horn, 81, of Cheyenne died April 2, 2013 at the VA Hospice Center. He was born December 30, 1931 in Cheyenne to H.W. "Dutch" Van Horn and Verla Van Horn. He worked as a pipefitter/ welder for Husky Oil in Cheyenne for 20 years. Bob was in the Marine Corps and served in Korea. He was an avid reader, hunter, fisherman, gardener and swimmer. He was a member of the VFW Post 1881, Cheyenne Shrine Club and Masonic Lodge #11. After retirement he wintered in Surprise, AZ where he volunteered as a fruit gleaner for 18 years. He is survived by his wife of nearly 57 years, Rose Van Horn of Cheyenne; daughter, Debra Van Horn and a son, James Van Horn, both of Cheyenne; daughter, Linda Gleason of Lafayette, CO and a sister, Marjorie Hall of Cheyenne. Cremation has taken place under the care of Schrader Funeral Home. Private family services will be held.
