Rodney Pepper

January 10, 1952 — November 30, 2014

Rod Pepper died in his sleep November 30, 2014, he was 62. Born in Basin, Wyoming on January 10, 1952 to Alvin John and Margie E. Pepper. He lived early on in Basin and Sundance before the family settled in Cheyenne. He was a graduate of Central class of ‘70. He attended Casper College on a music scholarship and also attended the University of Wyoming. Rod was a licensed insurance agent selling long term care, life and Medicare supplement products. Rod was an accomplished author having had several articles published in national four wheeling magazines. He and his Jeep, Wild Oats, were known worldwide and his circle of jeeping buddies from the Rough Country 4 Wheelers which he helped found over 30 years ago along with numerous friends from jeep jamborees, trail runs and many camping trips will remember his sense of humor and a little competiveness while driving on the trails. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, father, several uncles an aunt and several cousins. He is survived by his faithful K9, Kyra; his mother, Margie of Cheyenne; brother Kevin from Phoenix, AZ, Mark and wife, Barb of Casper; a nephew AJ Pepper and wife Brooke from Boston; nieces Samantha McGirr and husband Mick of Mesa, AZ, Kiana Pepper of Casper; cousins, Natalie Schryack of Worland, Nola Nicholson of Eagle, CO, Scott Maller and wife Jane of Crowheart, Gloria Philp and husband, Rob of Lysite, Carrie Pepper of Sacramento, CA, Shawn Miller of Los Angeles, and Mark Maller of Terryville, CT; friend, Gwynn Worthington of Laramie, along with numerous friends. Cremation has taken place; a Celebration of Life will take place 1:00 p.m. Friday at Lakeview Chapel at Schrader Funeral Home, 2222 Russell Avenue, with a reception to follow in the Schrader Reception Center.
