Mr. Rodney Clyde Runnells, 79, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away September 19, 2014, at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. Mr. Runnells was born February 14, 1935, in Shelton, Nebraska, a son of the late Murrell C. and Velma M. (Wilcox) Runnells. Rodney served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired as a budget analyst from the Wyoming Air National Guard. He was member of the Elk's Lodge and the Senior Sergeant Association. He is survived by his wife, Kathy VanDuyn of Cheyenne; a daughter, Terry Maricle of Evans, CO; four sons, Tony Runnells of Laramie, WY, Michael Runnells of Nunn, CO, Charles Runnells of Cheyenne, and Scott Runnells of Cheyenne; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother; and two sisters. Cremation is under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home. Private family services will be held at a later date.
