Roland Wonch

Roland P. "Pinky" Wonch, 79, of Cheyenne died August 12, 2011 at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. He was born August 16, 1931 in Arnold, Nebraska to Grant and Elva Wonch. He was a heavy equipment mechanic for Read Construction. He was a lifetime member of the VFW #1881, American Legion Post #6 and Fraternal Order of Eagles. He is survived by his daughters, Ann Wonch of Cheyenne, Jane Trompke of Cheyenne and Beth Simmons of Torrington; son, Ed Wonch of Cheyenne; sisters Willene Elsasser of Gillette, WY and Donna Yalowizer of Encampment, WY; brother, Allen Wonch of Saratoga, WY; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grant and Elva Wonch; brothers, Warren and Elvin Wonch. A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the VFW Post #1881.
