Ronald Gregory, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, in Casper, Wyoming. He was born on October 23, 1932, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Ronald's life was one filled with remarkable adventures and unwavering dedication to his loved ones.
Ronald's career as an airline pilot spanned over three decades, flying for Frontier Airlines in the United States before taking his talents overseas to countries like Belgium, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates. After retiring from flying, he and his wife Dorothy ventured into ranching together for 27 years. His love for the ranch was palpable through the memories shared by his family. His children and grandchildren cherished the time spent with him on the ranch, learning valuable skills and creating unforgettable moments.
A man of many passions, Ronald's stubborn yet forward-thinking personality left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Whether it was arguing his point or breaking away from norms to raise bison instead of cattle, Ronald always marched to the beat of his own drum. Despite his stubbornness, he had a sharp wit and a fantastic sense of humor that endeared him to those around him.
Aside from his career achievements and adventurous spirit, Ronald's proudest accomplishments included being a devoted husband to Dorothy and a loving father to his children, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His legacy lives on through the values he instilled in his family.
Ronald's sudden passing from heart failure has left a void in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be dearly missed by his surviving family members: brothers Dale (Barbara) and Gary (Linda); children Ronald Jr. (Olivia), Jennifer (Charles Bayne Jr.), and Summer; grandchildren Darian (Myra), Kira, Tia, Charles Bayne III (Kati), Taylor (Andrew); great-grandchildren Maci, Anna, Charles IV "Chase," and Hallie; along with numerous other extended family members and friends.
Ronald was preceded in death by his father Albert "Kelly " Gregory, mother Clara Fay Cross, (nea Allen), wife Dorothy Louise Gregory (nea Clark), son Daryl Gregory, daughters Jeri Kay McCue and Kelly Luann Caldwell.
A funeral service to honor Ronald's life will be held at St. Mary's Cathedral in Cheyenne at noon on Friday, July 19th followed by his burial at Olivet Cemetery. As we bid farewell to Ronald Gregory in this earthly realm, we carry with us the memories of a remarkable man whose spirit will continue to inspire generations to come. May he rest in peace knowing that he was deeply cherished by all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
