Rose Donohoe

November 25, 1916 — March 22, 2012

Rose Ann Dunn Donohoe, 95, died on March 22 at Cheyenne Life Care Center. She was born in Newark, New Jersey and lived on Bloomfield, New Jersey until moving to Clearwater, Florida in 1972. She worked for General Electric Company in New York City as a secretary until her marriage in 1951. Her husband, Francis J. Donohoe, died in 1999 after 48 years of marriage. She served as a volunteer Red Cross Nurses' Aide for many years at the East Orange, New Jersey veterans Hospital and at nursing homes in New Jersey and Florida. She was a Catholic and a member of St. Cecelia's Catholic Church in Clearwater and St. Mary's Cathedral in Cheyenne. She served in the U.S. Coast Guard SPARS for 38 months during World War II and was discharged as a Chief Petty Officer in 1946. She leaves 3 children, Mary J Pfefferle of Cheyenne, WY, Francis J. Donohoe, Jr. of Goleta, CA, and William F. Donohoe of Narragansett, RI. She also has 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. A Vigil for the Deceased will be held 4:00 p.m. Friday in the Schrader Chapel. A Mass and burial will be held in Wilmington, DE.
