Ruben Valerio

Ruben E. Valerio, 71, of Cheyenne passed away March 16, 2017 in Cheyenne. He was born October 1, 1945 in Taos, NM to Eliu and Ida Valerio. He married Ann Moran on February 22, 1964 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Rancho de Taos, NM. He was an auto body painter and enjoyed working on cars. His grandchildren were the light of his life. Ruben was always the life of the party, he could always brighten your day with his jokes and laughter. He enjoyed camping, fishing, lowriders and cooking for his friends and family, was an avid Bronco fan, and his collection of hats, of which he was rarely seen without one. He is survived by his wife, Ann Valerio of Cheyenne; children, Nicole (Danny) Lowe of Cheyenne and Amber Nelson of Cheyenne; grandchildren, Tianna, Justen, Jaden, Gavin and Niko; mother, Ida Valerio of Cheyenne; siblings, Bella (Louis) Romero of Cheyenne, Amy Lesley of Cheyenne and Phyllis Olbekson of Cheyenne; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends that thought the world of him. He was preceded in death by a son, Alonzo Valerio and his father, Eliu Valerio. Those who wish may contribute to the American Lung Association. A Celebration of Life will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Eagles Lodge. Cremation has taken place under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home.
