Ruth Holian

Ruth E. Holian, 59, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away early Monday morning, March 14, 2016, at the Davis Hospice Center surrounded by her loving family. Ruth was born March 2, 1957, in Wakefield, Nebraska, a daughter of the late Merlin and Helen (Ottoson) Bressler. Ruth was happily married to Knute Holian for 25 years. She worked as a registered nurse for the Veterans Administration Medical Center for the past 34 years, retiring last March. An excellent athlete, Ruth participated in track, volleyball, softball, cheerleading and tennis. She also enjoyed fishing. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister and friend, and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Ruth is survived by her husband, Knute Holian of Cheyenne; two daughters, Jasmine Holian and Katrina Holian, both of Cheyenne; two brothers, Steve Bressler and wife, Joan, of Portland, OR, and Mike Bressler of Wakefield, NE; and five nieces and nephews, Daniel, Josiah, Hannah, Benjamin and Elizabeth. A memory service will be celebrated on Friday, March 18, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Jason King officiating. Cremation is under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home.
