Salvador "Sal" Manzanares, Sr., 76, of Cheyenne passed away peacefully at his home on Oct. 29, 2016. He was born December 15, 1939, in Durango, Colorado. He served in the Army National Guard and was a custodian for the City of Cheyenne prior to his retirement. He is survived by his life-long partner, Kathy Plymire; sons, Salvador (John) Manzanares Jr., Steve Manzanares (Julie), Richard Manzanares, Victor Manzanares, and Jason (Billy Jo) Manzanares; brothers, Fermin (Barbara) Manzanares, John Manzanares and Robert (Kathy) Manzanares; sisters, Mary (Jerry) Roybal and Rosie Rich; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Georgia and Martin Manzanares; brothers, Pat Manzanares and Sam Manzanares; and sisters, Frances Lucero, Annie Manzanares and Irene Parker. Private services were held November 1, 2016, with cremation following. Services are under the direction of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home.
