Sammy Bates

Sammy Dean Bates, 84, of Cheyenne, Wyoming passed away August 24, 2019 in Fort Morgan, Colorado. Sammy was born September 18, 1934 in Madill, Oklahoma, son of the late Fred and Ruth Bates. Sammy served honorably in Germany for the US Army. He later attended South Eastern University in Durant, Oklahoma. He worked as a supervisor for Frontier Refinery, retiring after 32 years. Sammy is survived by wife, Pat Bates; three children, Sheila Bowen, Lisa Bradfield and Gary Bates; step-son, Mark Scott; sister, Carolyn Waddell; brother-in-law, Paul Phillips; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and life-long friend, Neil Duncan. He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Joyce Eddington and Patsy Phillips. A memory service will be celebrated Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the Lakeview Chapel at Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home. A reception will follow at the Schrader Reception Center.
