Sandra Kay Hoffer (Sandy), 53 of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away from ALS on July 24, 2012, at Davis Hospice Center. Sandra Kay Elson was born Sept. 26, 1958, to Orville and Iris (Kyle) Elson. Born and raised in Cheyenne, WY, Sandy graduated from East High School in 1977. A month after graduation, she married her high school sweetheart, Ron Hoffer, Jr. In 1983, Sandy and Ron moved to Phoenix, AZ. It was there that Sandy found her passion in children. Sandy ran her own home childcare for 20 years in Arizona before moving back to Cheyenne in 2008 where she ran a family childcare until 2011 when she became ill. Sandy was very crafty and loved to sew. People who knew Sandy knew that she would do anything for them. She was a beautiful person inside and out. She was a true friend to everyone. Sandy's greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter, Kaylee Michelle, with whom she had a special bond. She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her daughter, Ashlee Hoffer, and her fiancé, Chris Russell, and granddaughter, Kaylee Michelle Russell, all of Cheyenne; a brother, Larry Elson and his wife, Amiee, of Arizona; two sisters, Diana Cook of Cheyenne, and Jacque Burns and her husband, Tom, of Riverton; two sisters-in-law, Lori Medina and her husband, Billy, and Tracy Sanchez and her husband, Paul, all of Cheyenne; eleven nieces; six nephews; and all of her dear friends. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 29 years, Ron Hoffer, Jr.; and her first daughter, Kristin Nicole. A Vigil for the Deceased will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at 6:00 p.m. at the Schrader Chapel. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, August 2nd at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral with Father Tim Martinson as celebrant. Interment will follow at Olivet Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Billy Medina, Blake Medina, Shawn Cook, Larry Elson and Alan Griffieth.
