Mr. Scott G. Epler, 51, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away at the Davis Hospice Center on Saturday morning, January 1, 2011. He was born in Cheyenne on August 30, 1959, to Arden and Karen (Watne) Epler. Scott married Frances Gonzales on November 12, 1993. He was raised on the family ranch in Cheyenne and graduated from East High School. He worked for the City of Cheyenne Street and Alley for 30 years as a heavy equipment operator. Scott was a very gentle and quiet man with a big heart. He was always ready to help anyone in need. His greatest passion was working on the farm alongside his father. Later in life, he enjoyed camping with family and friends, golfing, bowling and cooking. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Frances Epler; his mother, Karen Epler; three children, Christopher Epler and Michelle Epler, both of Cheyenne, and Amy Fink and husband, JJ, of Lincoln, NE; two step-children, Antoinette Ferro of Cheyenne, and Bennie Martinez and wife, Chantel of Chandler, AZ; one brother, Randy Epler and wife, Belinda, of Veteran, WY; three sisters, Kimberly Jacobsen and husband, Ron, of Chugwater, WY, Lisa Horst and husband, Les, of Burns, WY, and Suzanne Epler of Billings, MT; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by his father, Arden Epler; and grandparents, Ora and Fern Epler and Melvin and Twila Watne. Cremation will take place at Schrader’s Sunset Park Crematory. His family will hold a celebration of Scott’s life on Friday, January 7, 2011, from 5-8 p.m. at the Archer Complex. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Expressions of sympathy in Scott memory may be made to the Davis Hospice Center, 6000 Sycamore, Cheyenne, WY 82009, or a charity of one’s choice.
