Sharon L. Scott, 76, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, formally of Gering, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2016. She was born October 10, 1939, in Alliance, Nebraska, to Charles "Chuck" and Sadie (Klein) Wright. She was the eldest of four children. She attended school at St. Agnes Academy and Alliance High School. She quit high school at the age of 16, the first week of her senior year and was married that same week. She held various jobs during her lifetime in Alliance and Scottsbluff. Working at Midwec for a number of years and upon their closing, she worked for a call center until her retirement. Sharon was active in local government. She served on the Board of Trustees for the Village of Terrytown for a number of years. She was a single mother of three children. And although she wasn't perfect, she always made sure her children had what they needed. She is survived by her children, Karry (Terry) Webb of Big Spring, TX, Cindy (Leigh) Newstead of Cheyenne, and Chuck (Christina) Scott of Gering, NE; grandchildren, Charity Taylor, Matthew (Tiffany) Scott, Nicholas Newstead, Kimberly Scott; great-grandchildren, Sean, Devin, Jarod, Annabelle Taylor, Braeden Medina and Emery Scott; sisters, Alice Sanderson of Scottsbluff, NE, and Bobbie Underwood of Gering, NE; brother, Donald (Debi) Wright of Las Vegas, NV; and many nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her parents, Chuck and Sadie Wright; an infant son; grandson, Dustin Taylor; brothers-in-law, Wayne Underwood and Mardyth (Marty) Sanderson; and special cousins, Harold "Junior" Willis and Joan Downey. A memorial service will be celebrated on Saturday, October 8, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Home in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Cremation is under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home, Cheyenne.
