Shirley Duryee

Born: March 22, 1939 Died: November 28, 2010 Services: A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, December 4, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at the Schrader Chapel with Pastor Roger Rapp officiating. An interment service will follow at Beth El Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gregg Pitts, Tim Bechtle, Leonard Golding, Eric Brown, Adam Johnson and Heath Johnson. Shirley Ann Duryee of Cheyenne passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, November 28, 2010, surrounded by family and friends. She was 71 years old. Shirley Ann Duryee was born March 22, 1939, in Rock Springs, Wyoming, the daughter of Holdridge Princeton Guy and Ruth Evelyn (Foy) Guy. Shirley graduated from Cheyenne High School, Class of 1957. Shirley married Darrell W. “Dan” Duryee on August 17, 1984, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She worked at Wyoming Blue Cross & Blue Shield for 30 years. Her many interests included enjoying the outdoors, taking care of her cats, and decorating for the holidays and sharing those specials events with her family. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her sons, Andrew G. “Andy” Hardisky and William J. “Bill” Hardisky, both of Cheyenne ,and Marvin Duryee of Grand Island, Nebraska. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Keri Hardisky of Cheyenne; her uncle and aunt, William and Freddy Foy of Cheyenne; two cousins, Nelly Johnson and Patricia Coleman, both of Pinedale, WY; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Darrell W. “Dan” Duryee and a brother, Col. John W. Guy USMC (Ret). Memorials: In lieu of flowers, family has asked that contributions be made to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter, 800 Southwest Dr., Cheyenne, WY 82007.
