Mrs. Shirley Louise Nelson, 77, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away early Monday morning, July 16, 2012, at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Nelson was born September 7, 1934, in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of the late George H. and Evelyn Louise (Gillen) Steinhausen. Shirley was a wonderful mother and homemaker, and she loved the Lord and her family with all of her heart. Shirley is survived by seven children, Debbie L. Baker (John) of Cheyenne, Terri L. McCormack (Dave) of Firestone, CO, Pam Basile (Peter) of Cheyenne, Ted Nelson of Cedaredge, CO, Cynthia Nelson of Cheyenne, Kody Barowsky of Cheyenne, and Dennis G. Nelson of Cheyenne; fifteen grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur B. Nelson; and her brother, Henry Steinhausen. A Vigil for the Deceased will be held Thursday, August 2nd in the Schrader Chapel 7:00 p.m. Her family will celebrate a memorial mass on Friday, August 3rd at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral with a luncheon following in Hartmann Hall. Cremation is under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy in Shirley's memory may be made to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter, 800 Southwest Drive, Cheyenne, WY 82007.
