Sonny Shunn, a beloved husband, father and grandfather, born November 9, 1941 in Cheyenne and cherished member of his family, has passed away at the age of 81.
A dedicated family man, Sonny adored spending quality time with his loved ones. His family was the center of his universe, and he treasured every precious moment shared with them. Preceded in death by Vernon Shunn, Jessie and Herald Stroud, Gary Shunn, Chad Shunn and Paul Saldivar. Survived by his wife Mary Shunn, daughter Lisa O’Dell (Randy), son Charlie Armstrong, daughter Paulina Martinez (Lee), daughter Dawn Shunn, stepmother Vonnie Shunn, sister Verna Hammon (Louie), sister Goldena Cooper (Tom), step sister De Shunn, 11 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his devotion to family, Sonny had a few cherished passions that brought him immense happiness throughout his life. One such passion was his beloved dog Wedo.
Friends and acquaintances would often see Sonny's warm smile when reminiscing about old times or hearing stories about his cherished experiences with family. His gentle spirit touched the lives of those fortunate enough to cross his path, always radiating kindness and compassion.
Sonny Shunn will be remembered as a devoted family man, an accomplished Heavy Equipment Operator, and a compassionate soul who brought joy to all who knew him. As we bid farewell to Sonny, let us treasure the memories shared and carry his loving spirit within our hearts forever.
