Stella Valdez

Stella Valdez, 93, of Cheyenne passed away January 19, 2020 in Cheyenne.

She was born June 26, 1926 in Cleveland, NM to Juan and Isdorita Lujan.  She married Ricardo Valdez on February 6, 1948 at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Cheyenne.  She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, St. Mary’s Cathedral, 3rd Order of Carmelites, Legion of Mary St. Joseph’s Alter Society and Cheyenne Senior Center.  She had worked at DePaul Hospital for 22 years and Los Amigos for 30 years.

She is survived by her son, Richard Valdez of Cheyenne; grandchildren, Tony (Amanda) Valdez of Brighton, CO, Andrew (Amanda) Valdez of Aurora, CO and Stephanie (Justin) Pendleton of Cheyenne; great-grandchildren, Taryn, Kalvin, Davien, Arien and Eyrie; and a brother, Joe Lujan of Loveland, CO.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ricardo; son, Anthony Valdez; siblings, Alice Martinez, Bessie Paiz, Mary Salas and John Lujan.

A Vigil for the Deceased will be 7:00 p.m. Thursday.  A Funeral Liturgy will be 2:00 p.m. Friday both at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with interment to follow in Olivet Cemetery.
