Stephen J. Dickey, Sr., 64, of Cheyenne, WY passed away June 12, 2019 at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. He was born December 24, 1954 in Maryville, TN to Roy and Wilhelmina Dickey. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, Gulf War and served in Operation Enduring Freedom; having served in the 82nd Airborne Division, the 1st Ranger Battalion, and the 10th & 20th Special Forces Groups. He was a recipient of the Combat Infantry Badge, Ranger and Special Forces tabs. He was a member of Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, and is also the father of the presiding priest. He is survived by his sons, Fr. Jason (Tiffany) Dickey of Cheyenne, WY and Stephen (Andra) Dickey, Jr. of Skohegan, ME; grandchildren, Joseph, Elijah, Marina, Waylon and Juliet; sisters, Claire Hayes of Oneada, AL. and Laura Trumbower of Chapin, SC. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Douglas Dickey. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. followed by a (memorial) Trisagion Service at 7:00 p.m. Monday at Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church with interment to follow in Beth El Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in his honor to the Green Beret Foundation, (www.greenberetfoundation.org) Services are under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home.
