Sue Siders, a beloved member of her community, passed away quietly in her sleep on September 26, 2024, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Born on November 23, 1943, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Sue touched the lives of many through her unwavering dedication and vibrant spirit.
For over 30 years, Sue served the Marion Schools as a bus driver, a role she embraced with passion and commitment. Her presence was a constant in the lives of countless children, many of whom honored her with heartfelt stories of their own, recalling her friendly smiles and encouraging words as they embarked on their school days.
Sue was known for her engaging storytelling. She always had a family story, a cat story, or an anecdote about a recent trip to share, captivating everyone around her with her rich narratives. They say that storytelling is an art, and Sue had mastered it, ensuring that each tale carried with it a touch of warmth and love.
In addition to her extensive career, Sue was an avid jewelry maker, specializing in wire wrapping lapidary stones and gems. This creative outlet allowed her to showcase her artistic talents and share her creations with family and friends, leaving behind not just memories but beautiful pieces that carry her spirit.
She leaves behind her cherished son, Chris Siders; her niece, Laura Tucker; her nephew, Dan Siders; and dear friends Lloyd Lepard and Wanda Santos-Lepard. Sue joins her late husband, Gene Siders; her mother, Phyllys Huey; and her father, Robert Huey, in eternal rest.
Sue Siders will be remembered, not only for her contributions as a bus driver and her creative talents, but also for her kindness, zest for life, and the love she shared with those fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and friends.
