Tanner Wirfel

Tanner Gregory Wirfel, 31, was born in Cheyenne on June 13, 1990. He was raised and employed in Cheyenne all of his life.

On October 4, 2021, Tanner lost his battle with an opioid addiction, as addiction never goes away. A relapse can happen any day.

Tanner was a hard worker as he worked mostly all-night shifts or very early shifts at Walmart Distribution Center for 9 years. He was smart and loved fishing, Mom and Tanner were regular lunch buddies at Applebee’s. They had many gun shooting sessions. They both were bulls eye shooters and loved seeing who shot the best.  Tanner loved football, was an avid New Orleans Saints fan and watch out because he was awesome when it came to Fantasy Football.

Tanner is survived by his beautiful daughter, Emery; mother, Tammy O’Grady; brother, Tucker Wirfel; sister, Brittany (Cruz) Renteria and husband, Alan and their son, Johnathan;and other extended families: Mike O’Grady’s family, Daniel O’Grady’s family; Pat and Brandon O’Grady, Steve O’Grady’s family, Linda Garcia’s family, Katherine Wirfel, Rebecca and John Oblander; and his doggies, Gracie and Zoe, who had bed rites.

Tanner is preceded in death by his father, Greg Wirfel; maternal grandparents, Tim and Carol O’Grady; paternal grandparents, Don and Paula Wirfel; cousin, Nathan O’Grady; and an aunt, Theresa O’Grady.

Private family services will be held. Cremation is under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home.
