Teresa Moore

Teresa Kay Moore died at an early age after fighting for life in the last years. Teresa is survived by parents, Ray and Carol Moore of Lander, Wyoming; sister, Sheila Moore of Laramie, Wyoming and spouse; son, Clayton Long of Cheyenne, Wyoming and spouse; son, Patrick Long of Cheyenne, Wyoming and spouse; and treasured grandchildren, Samuel, Connor and Cecilia.

Teresa was born in Lander, Wyoming on June 20, 1967 and graduated Lander Valley High School. She was a hard worker with a servant’s heart. Teresa regularly put loved ones or vulnerable people above herself. She was a dedicated daughter and caretaker, supporting sister, loving mother, elated grandma and trusted friend.

Teresa’s heart particularly thrived giving care to children. She was the best mother possible to her sons and her impact on the world can be seen through the hundreds of children’s hearts and hands she influenced. Her sons feel Teresa was called to care for the children in heaven and know the babies there will have the best. She worked most her life caring for children. She was frequently happily approached in public by children she cared for so they could embrace or share a moment. She enjoyed talking and sharing her life anywhere she was approached. She rarely went somewhere without seeing a friend or making a friendly remark to brighten one’s day. When Teresa did take time away from her work the children would often ask for her to return by name. Following her heart’s calling, Teresa fought for and earned a bachelor’s degree in teaching but only after successfully seeing her sons into their degree fields of business and law enforcement.

Teresa enjoyed time with animals, fishing, reading, bowling, gardening, playing cards and time with family. She especially enjoyed time with her three grandchildren and finding ways to help them learn, grow, and feel loved. She often reminisced of her playful childhood summers in Montana riding ponies, picking strawberries or fishing with her beloved, passed paternal grandparents or her times exploring, playing, and learning gardening in Wyoming with her beloved passed maternal grandparents. Family members miss her laugh, her love, and her willingness to help you remember your worth.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 17, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Lander, Wyoming.  Interment with follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.  You are invited to join the livestream broadcast by going to https://livestream.com/accounts/16829497/events/9216053.
