Mrs. Thelma L. (Johnson) Brubaker, 88, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at the Life Care Center of Cheyenne. She was born June 22, 1925, in Ericson, Nebraska, a daughter of the late Willard R. and Cigaretta Johnson. Thelma was a graduate of Cheyenne High School, Class of 1942, and she enjoyed caring for her home and her family. Her many interests included making crafts, enjoying Cheyenne Frontier Days and shopping. She was particularly proud of her 10,000th Hour Pin for volunteering as a buyer for DePaul Hospital Lemon Tree Gift Shop. She was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Thelma is survived by her daughter, Cyndi Henderson and husband, Scott; two sons, Chris Brubaker and wife, Dorrie, and Terry Brubaker and wife, Marcia; 11 grandchildren, Sara, Eric, Levi, Carrie, Jack, Logan, Caleb, Jason, Tarn, Reid and Rowan; and nine great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Col. Jack P. Brubaker; and three brothers, Leo, Gale and Wayne Johnson. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 16, 2014, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Schrader Funeral Home. A memory service will be celebrated on Monday, March 17th at 10:00 a.m. at the Schrader Chapel with The Reverend Bob Garrard officiating. Private interment will be held at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
