Theodore Joe "Ted" Whitaker passed away peacefully January 1, 2019 at the Cheyenne VA Medical Center with family by his side. Ted was born February 19, 1939 to Ethel J. (Bartos) Whitaker and Franklin D. Whitaker in Lusk, Wyoming. In 1945, his family moved from Wyoming to Millbrae, California when his stepdad was transferred by United Airlines. He grew up in California and after serving in the United States Marine Corps, married Georgia Mae Zinnbauer in 1964. In their 47 years of marriage, Ted and Georgia had many adventures including owning a business together (Modesto Saddlery), raising two daughters, ranching, farming, traveling, team penning, adventures with friends, raising sheep and remodeling various homes. In 1997, they moved from California to Lingle, Wyoming. They both loved the wide open spaces of Wyoming and ranching. Ted was preceded in death by his beautiful bride, Georgia Mae; brothers, Jack and Wendall; his niece, Riley; and his parents. He leaves his daughter, Audrey Andrade and grandsons, Brett and Johnny; daughter, Karen Pacheco and her husband, Bill; brothers, Jim and Marty; sister, Benecia; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and close family friends. No services are planned. We ask that you think of Ted and Georgia every time you have pancakes! The family wishes to thank Aspen Wind Assisted Living and the Cheyenne VA Medical Center for the tremendous job they did in taking care of our dad! We will be forever grateful for your guidance and compassion!
