Thomas A. Haller passed away Sunday February 25, 2024 surrounded by his family after a long illness. He was comforted by many friends during his final days. Tom was born on July 8th, 1959 in Omaha, NE, was a longtime resident of Cheyenne and was a 1978 graduate of St. Mary's High School. He spent time in Denver, Omaha, and Kansas City before returning to Cheyenne in 1990. Over the years he worked at Peoples Sporting Goods, Air Gas, Connecting Point, Sixteenth Street Audio and Stereo (as part owner), and Peak Wellness for twelve years as a lead behavioral health technician. He was well known in and committed to the Recovery Community. He was a music, audio, photography, computer and electronic music aficionado, and amateur horologist. He enjoyed the Cheyenne Symphony, concerts with friends throughout Colorado and the nation, recreational shooting, and fishing. He enjoyed the company of his extended family as well as cats Samantha and Smokey for many years.
Tom is survived by brother James (Debbie) Haller II of Cheyenne; sister-in-law Laurie Vogler Haller of Carlsbad, CA; sister Karen Sacco Haller of Omaha, NE; brother Joseph (Karen) Haller of Las Vegas, NV; sister Janet (Jeff) Stander of Waverly, NE; nieces and nephews James Haller III, Jessica (Zeb) McWilliams, Michael Haller, Samantha Haller, Alexander Haller, Cheyenne Trimels, Kara Trimels, Rodney (Annaell) Haller, Steven (Stephanie) Cowley, Benjamin Lemmerman, Matthew Lemmerman, Mark Haller, Sarah Haller, Jay Stander, Jackson Stander, as well as many great nieces and nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents Dr. James G. Haller and Irene A. Haller; brother Robert A. Haller; nephews Lars C. Haller and Anthony T. Haller.
A vigil for the deceased will be held at Holy Trinity Parish in Cheyenne on Sunday, March 3rd, 2024 at 6:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held at Holy Trinity Parish on Monday, March 4th, 2024 at 10:00 AM followed by internment at Olivet Cemetery and reception afterward at Holy Trinity.
The family offers special thanks to the friends of Bill W. and the fellowship community, many community doctors, nurses and medical staff, and to Granite Rehabilitation and Wellness, and Enhabit Hospice who cared for Tom.
Contributions in his memory may be made to COMEA House & Resource Center, Meals on Wheels of Cheyenne, or the Cheyenne Animal Shelter Safe Harbor Programs for Owned Pets.
