Thomas Lee Jiacoletti passed away early Saturday morning, May 7, 2011 at Mt. Towers Home. He was 82 years old, born September 15, 1928 in Kemmerer, WY to Steve and Dwella (Evans) Jiacoletti. Lee started his education in Cheyenne at St. Mary's School and concluded it at Cheyenne High graduating in 1947. After a quick stint at the University of WY, he returned to Cheyenne for the love of his life, Marjorie A. Powell. Lee and Mag were married August 17, 1949 and were married over 60 years. He started his career at Cheyenne Light Fuel and Power as a Meter Reader. Lee worked his way through every facet of Cheyenne Light as a Meter Reader, Appliance Serviceman, Engineer, and lastly Executive Gas Foreman. Lee earned an engineering degree while at Cheyenne Light and had 37 years of service with the company upon retirement. Lee was also a bartender nights and weekends during the 50's and 60's working just about all the downtown establishments Lee had an outstanding public service career in Cheyenne, serving on the Planning Board, Board of Adjustments and other planning committees. The Cheyenne Jaycees was a passion for Lee and he served them well as State President in 1963 and other national offices thereafter. He also served as President for the Cheyenne Engineers Club. Lee received countless certificates, plaques, and accolades for his service in our community. Lee's athletic prowess was evident through his superior boxing abilities which were highlighted early by a State Light Weight Golden Gloves championship. Lee was always known to have given more than he received. Lee was preceded in death by his wife, Mag, the love of his life, his parents Steve and Dwella (Evans) Jiacoletti, and a brother, Jack Jiacoletti. He is survived by three children Victoria, Michael, and Joy, four grandchildren, Heather, Christy, Edward, and Jacob and five great grandchildren. Our dad lived life to the fullest and was rewarded with a life-long friends and relationships! He and his family can't thank all of those people enough. We all had a great time! Our entire family would especially like to express our sincere and special thanks to all Dad's caregivers at Mt. Towers throughout the last 2 ½ years! You were outstanding for Mom and Dad in all their care. Thank you ever so much! Vigil for the Deceased will be held Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at 6 p.m. in Schrader Chapel. Funeral Liturgy will be conducted on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Cathedral with Father Gary J. Ruzicka as celebrant.
