Thomas Rivera

Thomas R. "Tom" Rivera, 87, of Cheyenne passed away May 3, 2018 in Cheyenne. He was born April 10, 1931 in Taos, NM to Henry and Annie Rivera. He married Mary Rafelita Garcia on October 16, 1953 in Cheyenne. He was a concrete foreman for Cook-McCann and owned Rivera's Concrete. He was a member of St. Joseph 's Catholic Church. He honorably served in the United States Army in the 187th Airborne Infantry Regiment (Rakkasans) and served in the Korean conflict. He enjoyed hunting and camping. Tom is survived by his children, Tom (Marylou) Rivera, Jr. of Cheyenne and Melissa Rivera of Cheyenne; grandchildren, Tom Rivera III, Phillip (Elisa) Rivera, Jarrod Rivera, and Yesinia Rivera; great-grandson, Gabriel Boyd; siblings, Loyola Kuhlman of Alliance, NE, Helen Webber of Cheyenne, Patricia (Jesse) Martinez of Cheyenne, Irene (Richard) Paiz of Cheyenne, and John(Carolyn) Rivera of Cheyenne. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Rafelita Rivera; parents and siblings, Ben Rivera and Mary Romero. A Funeral Liturgy will be 1:00pm Tuesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Cremation and services are under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home.
