Tomme Gail Lawler Gold passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family who loved her so deeply, on July 26, 2013. Tomme was born on the August 24, 1943, to W.T. and Lillie Lawler in Minerva, TX, and moved to Brenham, TX, where she grew up with her four sisters. She attended Blinn College, and then The University of Houston. After meeting at their place of work, Exxon, where she was an accountant, she married Gerald "Jerry" Gold on July 6, 1973. They had two children, Tanya and Scott. In 1993, they moved to Flagstaff, AZ, where she worked as a property manager for Coldwell Banker. And finally, they moved to Cheyenne, in 2007, where she became involved with her church and her HOA. Tomme enjoyed being with family and friends, as well as hunting, fishing, hiking, traveling the world and spending time with her Beagle, Buddy. She was our rock, inspiration and guide through life. During the past eight months Tomme was fighting a battle with lung cancer and she almost won. It was complications from pneumonia and ARDS that took her life. Tomme is survived by her husband, Jerry Gold; her daughter and son-in-law, Tanya and Stewart Holmes; son, Scott Gold; grandson, Jack Holmes; her sisters and their husbands, Alphann and Gene Stephens and Dee and Ed Shupak; her brother-in-law and wife, Mark and Eileen Gold; and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Connie and Lillie Marlene; parents-in-law, Roland and Christeen Gold; and nephew, Russell Stephens. A funeral service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church on August 1, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
