Vealess Hudspeth

Vealess Franklin Hudspeth, 86, died February 7, 2015, at his home in Cheyenne. Vealess was born September 1, 1928, in Little Rock, Arkansas, and had lived in Cheyenne since 1961. Vealess was a beloved father, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was married to his wife Genevieve "Jenny", who preceded him in death, for 49 years. Vealess graduated from the University of Arkansas with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and a master's degree from Yale. He served in the Navy during the Korean War. After moving to Cheyenne, he was a businessman for over 40 years as owner of HNB Consulting Engineers. Vealess was also active in the community; he was a member of the First Presbyterian Church for over 50 years and a member of the Cheyenne Rotary Club for 44 years. He was also a member of the Masons and made deliveries for Meals on Wheels. Vealess is survived by his daughter Janet St. John and her husband Daniel St. John of Denver; two grandchildren, Hailey St. John and Ashlyn St. John of Denver; one great-grandson John St. John of Denver; his daughter Sue Bryce and her husband Major Arthur Bryce of Anchorage, Alaska; and his daughter Elizabeth. He is also survived by his brother Kenneth Hudspeth and his wife Imogene of Quitman, Arkansas and many nieces and nephews. Vealess was preceded in death by his wife and his parents. Those who wish may contribute to the First Presbyterian Church or Meals on Wheels. Funeral Services will be Thursday 1:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church followed by a reception. Interment will take place in Lakeview Cemetery.
