Vigil for the Deceased will be Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at Schrader Chapel at 7 p.m. with Father Steve Titus officiating. Funeral Liturgy will be Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Holy Trinity at 10 a.m. with Father Steve Titus officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at Schrader Chapel from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. Virgil Lee Houghton of Cheyenne, passed away June 16, 2010 at the V.A. Medical Center in Cheyenne. Virgil was born July 9, 1925 in Novinger, Missouri the son of Thomas Franklin and Alma Houghton. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of World War II. He retired from Cowboy Dodge as the foreman of the auto body paint shop after 35 years of service. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the American Legion. He married Shirley Glee Thomas on March 11, 2000 in Wheatland, Wyoming. Virgil is survived by his wife, Shirley Houghton of Cheyenne, Wyoming; his Son, Thomas Houghton of Cheyenne, Wyoming and his daughters, Jenny Christman and Winnie Talkington, both of Cheyenne; his stepchildren, Suellen Junkert and Wendi Baillie of Billings, Montana, Cinda Berger of Anchorage, Alaska, and Doug Kuck of Green River, Wyoming. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Catherine Rosalie Moore - Houghton and a son, Steven Houghton. Pallbearers will be Jeff Rusk, Tommy Houghton, Austin Rusk, Dick Cranmore, Gerald Dickerson and Grahm Edwards.
