Virginia Cain

June 19, 1949 — July 28, 2017

Virginia Cain, 68, of Cheyenne passed away July 28, 2017 at her home in Cheyenne. She was born June 19, 1949 in Saratoga, WY to Demetrio and Lorraine Duran. She married Harvey Cain on September 11, 1967 In Rock River, WY. She worked for Cheyenne Housing Authority. She was of Christian faith. She is survived by her children, Don Cain of Las Vegas, NV, Gary Cain of Colorado, and Kirstie Cain of Cheyenne; grandchildren, Bret (Danielle)Cain, Jordan Cain, and Amber Cain; great-grandchildren, Alexandrea Cain, McKenna Cain, Blake Cain, Brooklyn Wade, Grayson Seivewright and Everly Seivewright; siblings, Charlie Duran of Cheyenne, Bobby Duran of Cheyenne, Daniel Duran of Green River, WY and Martha Duran of West Virginia; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Cain; siblings, Johnny Duran, Emerson Duran, Ernie Duran and Elizabeth Duran; and nephew, Billy Frausto. Virginia enjoyed spending time with her great-grandchildren. They brought her lots of joy. She enjoyed going on Sunday drives to the lakes and cooking with her son, Gary. She enjoyed talking with her son, Don, about shopping or going shopping with him. She enjoyed talking to her daughter, Kirstie, about boys and friends and the good/bad in people. Most of all she enjoyed the time spent with the love of her life,Harvey. She was married to him for 49 years. They were together for 52 years. Our favorite saying was when mom would say "JUMBO" "Cheyenne, Wyoming" or "I burnt the Damn Chicken". It was funny because that is when her Spanish accent would come out and we would crack up. She also liked to torment our father by hollering his name "Harvey, Harvey, Harvey...". Dad would reply back. "Damn it Virginia, what do you want now?" They were inseparable. When one of themwas in the hospital the other would stay with the other or sleep on the couch because each other couldn't sleep unless they were next to each other. Our mom was our "HERO" andshe will be greatly missed. She raised her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to know that it is always better to give than to receive. She raised us to work hard because nothing in this life is free. She would give you her last dollar if you needed it, which is why she enjoyed cooking for the senior citizens of Indian Hills Manor. Mom was our best friend. We knew we could always talk to her about anything and everything. Now she can spend her 50th Anniversary with dad, dancing to Conway Twitty and Connie Smith. Services will be 2:00 p.m.on Thursday, August 10, 2017 in the Lakeview Chapel at Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home. A celebration of life will follow immediately at the GI Forum 619 S.
