A funeral service will be conducted on Monday, July 19, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. at the Schrader Chapel. Cremation will follow at Schrader’s Sunset Park Crematory. A private family interment service will be held at the Mountain View Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 19, 2010, from 9 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Schrader Funeral Home Mr. Walter C. Glantz, 87, of Cheyenne, passed away late Tuesday evening, July 13, 2010, at the Life Care Center of Cheyenne. Walter was born on the family farm in Ft. Collins, Colorado, on September 2, 1922, a son of Henry C. and Katherine (Fischer) Glantz. He was raised in Ft. Collins and following graduation from high school, he worked as a young man at Ft. Warren in Cheyenne during World War II. He then transitioned into the construction trade as a heavy equipment oiler and worked in construction for approximately 45 years until his retirement. He will be remembered for his love of animals, particularly his pets, for his puttering around the yard, and for the many life lessons that he shared with his children and grandchildren. Walter is survived by three children, Edward Glantz of Cheyenne, David Glantz and wife, Vicki, of Cheyenne, and Kathy Shultz and husband, Tom, of Cheyenne; five grandchildren, David Glantz, Keith Shultz, Anastasia Shultz, Zebadiah Glantz and Kiera Shultz; three great-grandchildren, Ryan Leotcher, Abigail Shultz and Izabel Glantz; a sister, Ester Jameson of St. Petersburg, FL; and a nephew, Stanley Jameson of St. Petersburg, FL. He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, James Glantz; and a grandson, Kevin Glantz.
