Mr. Wayne H. Bowen, 95, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away Friday, July 18, 2014, at Kindred Healthcare. Mr. Bowen was born July 12, 1919, in Edison, Nebraska, a son of the late William and Martha (Alloway) Bowen. He served in the United States Navy during World War II aboard the U.S.S. Urben. He married Frances Pauline Connard on April 15, 1967. He lived in Rock Springs, Wyoming, for 38 years, retiring as a mechanic for the Rock Springs Parks Department at the age of 80 years old. He has lived in Cheyenne for the past 14 years. Mr. Bowen is survived by two daughters, Barbara (Smith) Bryant of Cheyenne, and Edna Glover of California, seven grandchildren, Don Smith and Jason Bolton of Salt Lake City, UT, Rob Smith and Cheri Leyh of Cheyenne, Amy James of Sandy, UT, and Melissa Szczotka and Mitchel Glover of California; fifteen great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Frank Bowen of Paradise, CA. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Frances P. Bowen; a daughter, Judy K. Bolton; a grandson, Brad M. Bolton; a great-great granddaughter, Kaitlyn Leyh; and several brothers and a sister. A memory service will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the Lakeview Chapel at Schrader Funeral Home, 2222 Russell Ave. with a reception to immediately follow in the Schrader Reception Center. An interment service with military honors will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery.
