William Gilmer

William "Scott" Gilmer, 83, of Cheyenne died July 17, 2015 at Davis Hospice Center with his children in attendance. He was born July 31, 1931 in Gunnison, CO to William and Lillian Gilmer. He was a realty specialist for the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Bureau of Land Management. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a past president of the Sunrise Lions Club, in which he was also past District Governor; sponsor of Ride for Sight and a founding member of the vision screening program for children and also served as a Boy Scout Leader He is survived by his children, Will Gilmer of Salt Lake City, UT, Doug Gilmer of Lexington, VA and Jan Coughenour of Elizabeth, CO; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren and a sister, Tempe Gilmer of Grand Junction, CO. He was preceded in death by his wife LaJeanne Gilmer; parents, one brother and 6 sisters. A Memory Service will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Elizabeth McVicker officiating. Services and Cremation are under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home. Those who wish may contribute to the Alzheimer Association of Wyoming.
