William Hutton

February 23, 1936 — December 7, 2011

William R. Hutton (Bill), 75, of Cheyenne, died December 7, 2011, at home with family after a short but fierce battle with cancer. Bill was a farmer and rancher. He came to Wyoming in 1957 with wife and son and everything he owned in a car owned by the bank. He worked as a hired hand and in 1963, he was able to rent some farm land and worked in town at a second job. In 1965, he bought his first piece of property and continued to expand his farm to approximately 4500 acres. He made his first attempt at retirement in 1993. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Elks Lodge and the American Legion. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends camping, hunting and fishing. Bill Hutton is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joan Hutton of Cheyenne; a son, Mike Hutton of Cheyenne; a daughter, Reona Swain of Fredricksburg, TX; a brother, Richard Hutton of Springdale, AR; and a sister, Letha Ellenberger of Springdale, AR; two granddaughters, Rhianna Johnson of Cheyenne and Sheridan Johnson of Round Rock, TX; and numerous step grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Hutton; mother Thelma J. Hutton; daughter, Cheryl Lynn Hutton; and sister, Rosalee Hutton. Visitation will be Sunday 12 noon to 4:00 p.m. at Schrader Funeral Home with his family receiving friends from noon to 1:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday in Schrader Chapel. Interment Services will be at Memorial Gardens with a reception to follow. Those who wish may contribute to Davis Hospice Center, 6000 Sycamore, Cheyenne, WY 82009.
