William Swainson

William "Bill" A. Swainson, 85, of Cheyenne died January 28, 2013 at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. He was born November 24, 1927 in Denver, Colorado. As a child he was adopted by Clarence and Katherine Swainson. He married Dell T. Thomas on September 19, 1959 in Newcastle. He attended the University of Michigan for both his undergraduate degree and his Jurist Doctorate. He practiced law in Cheyenne for many years. He attended First united Methodist Church and was a member of the Wyoming Bar Association, Elk's Lodge and the Kiwanis Club. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dell T. Swainson of Cheyenne; sons Andy Swainson of Cheyenne and Scot (Becky) Swainson of Colorado Springs, CO; brother, Chris Swainson of Denver, CO and grandchildren, Zachary Swainson, Caleb Swainson and Madison Swainson. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jeanne Wilson. Those who wish may contribute to the Davis Hospice Center, 6000 Sycamore Rd., Cheyenne, WY 82009. Visitation will be Thursday at the Schrader Funeral Home noon until 7:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Don Bird officiating. Services and cremation will take place under the care of Schrader Funeral Home.
