William White

William F. (Bill) White, died January 3, 2020. Bill was born Dec. 1, 1947 in Hartford, CT and raced to Cheyenne for his first birthday. He attended Hebard Elementary, Johnson Jr. High, and East High School, graduating in 1966. After high school he served in the Army, completing two tours in Vietnam as a helicopter crew chief. Upon his return he attended LCCC and the University of Wyoming furthering his education in theatre arts. He had parts in 60+ productions in school and with CLTP and was especially proud of his time on stage as the villain at the Olde Time Melodrama. He greatly enjoyed his membership in the Cheyenne Jaycees and was a 50+ member and past president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Bill was employed for 18 years in the automobile industry working as a service advisor at Tyrrell Chevrolet, Montgomery Ward Auto Express, Firestone and parts salesman at G&G Auto Parts. He later retired after 18 years at USPS.

Bill loved to travel and often bragged that he had set foot in all 50 states. He had plans for more travel in his retirement, but health issues prevented further traveling.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Sally, her three children who he loved as his own; sons, Rick (Amber) Boyd, John (Doris) Boyd, both of Cheyenne; and daughter Rhonda (Gary) Adams of Reno, NV. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Caira of Marlborough, MA; and several nieces and nephews.

Bill is preceded in death by his mother Nina M. White.

A final wish was that the following statement by included in his obituary: “Life is the sum total of all events and all of the persons one encounters. I have had hundreds of friends and family who selflessly shared time with me. For that I thank you. I love you all!”

In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill’s name would be appreciated by St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
