Willis Shriver

Willis A. Shriver, 94, of Cheyenne, passed away on April 16, 2012, at the Davis Hospice center as quietly as he lived his life. He was born December 18, 1917, on a farm in Weskan, Kansas, to Irvin and Emily (Kelso) Shriver. After graduating from the University of Wyoming, he worked for United Airlines as an airplane mechanic during World War II. He married the love of his life, Leah Georgia Brown, on November 23, 1940. He was employed at the Frontier Refinery from 1946 until his retirement in 1985. He was a past member of the Cheyenne Sheriff's Mounted Posse and past member of Masonic Lodge #11 and First Congregational Church. Willis loved his dog, Buster, his horses, and his farming and mechanical work. He is survived by three daughters, Jean Patterson, Jerry (Rick) Keslar, and Jayne (Mike) Clark, nine grandchildren, Debbie Daniels, Ricki Ault, Scot Patterson, Kori Kwiecinski, Lara White, Jared Keslar, Dennis Clark, Jean Towns, and Michelle Gann, 25 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Leah, of sixty-eight years, his parents, his daughter, Susan Myers, grandchildren, Craig Myers, Jeffry White, and Chana White, and two sisters and one brother. Cremation has taken place under the care of Schrader Funeral Home with private family services being held at a later date.
