Zoltan A. Gancz, 92, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away Monday morning, March 13, 2017, at Life Care Center of Cheyenne. Zoltan was born Velky Bochov, Czechoslovakia, a son of the late Israel and Lea Gancz. A Holocaust survivor, Zoltan migrated to the United States in December of 1951. He met and married his late wife, Goldie S. Zigmond, on March 16, 1952, in Manhattan, New York. His family moved to Cheyenne in August 1954, and bought with his late partner, Eugene Zigmond, Cheyenne Music & Vending, operating the business until his retirement in 1989. He was a member of the Cheyenne Elks Lodge #660, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #128, and an active member of Mt. Sinai Synagogue. He also served as an honorary member of VFW Post #1881. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Zoltan is survived by his children, Lea Gancz of Cheyenne, and Bernard (Linda) Gancz of Las Vegas, NV; a sister, Helen Zigmond of Cheyenne; and two grandchildren, Sarah and Shoiban. He is preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Goldie Gancz; and numerous brothers and sisters. A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, March 16, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Sinai Synagogue with Rabbi Larry Moldo officiating. An interment service will follow at the Cheyenne Jewish Cemetery. The family requests no flowers. Donations in Zoltan's memory may be made to Mt. Sinai Synagogue.
