Delbert Kraft, 82, of Cheyenne passed away October 30, 2021 surrounded by family.
Delbert was born May 1, 1939 in Trego County, Kansas to John and Martha (Schneider) Kraft. He married Geraldine Dufour on June 12, 1993 in Los Alamos, New Mexico. Delbert served honorably in the United States Army, finishing his service as a paratrooper in the 18th Airborne Corps. He was also a lifetime member of the Solomon Kansas Masonic Lodge, and a member of the Cheyenne American Legion Post #6.
Delbert had a long career in the trucking industry. He lived in Kansas, Utah, New Mexico, and for the last 30 years in Cheyenne. He met many people and made life-long friends in his work travels across the country. He enjoyed outdoor activities including hunting, fishing and camping, and was always enthusiastic about trying his luck at the casino. Stepping out on the dance floor for a polka or a jitterbug was his idea of a fun night.
Delbert is survived by his wife, Geri Kraft of Cheyenne; son, Kevin (Paula) Kraft of Salt Lake City; daughter, Kim (Tim) Hare of Fort Worth; step-son, Adam Dufour of Tuscon; grandchildren, Chase (Carol) Hare, Whitney Hare, and Michael Keener; and great-grandson, Conrad Hare.
Delbert was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Violet, Ruby, Evelyn, and Karen; and his twin brother, Delmar.
A private family service will be held at the Cheyenne National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Delbert’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project and the Cheyenne American Legion Post #6.
Cremation is under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home, located at 2222 Russell Avenue, Cheyenne, Wyoming 82001.
